For a second night running – this time at The Lodge on Gott Bay – the Tiree Wave Classic had the unexpected bonus of a spontaneous gig from Paolo Nutini who’s on the island just now. (The reason is that he’s the boyfriend of one of the event staff on Tiree from GMFCo.) The party was so good that the necessary early start today will have been hard going for the competitors.
As we reported last night, John Skye took the Tiree Wave Classic title, beating Phil Horrocks in the final of the pros double elimination contest. The Pro fleet are unlikely to go out again, given the amount of time left The Ladies, Amateurs and Masters may get in some sailing today. We’ll report later.
And congratulations to Jamie Cox from Bournemouth, He had his best ever day yesterday since he joined the UKWA Tour, beating Mullen, Hunt, Murray and Hancock before losing to Proffitt, who finished third. (See item published yesterday evening with the results.
