Change of date for LEAF meeting

The next meeting of LEAF (Lorn Environmental Action Forum) -  the new umbrella organisation for environmental groups in Argyll – has been changed from 10th to 17th February.

Full details of the new arrangements are: 17th February at 6.30pm at Oban Fire Station.

Seil Natural History Group: December meeting

Seil Natural History Group’s monthly meeting is on 8th December in Seil Island Hall at 7.30pm.

Speakers are Andy Acton and Anna Griffiths opn: Lichens of Atlantic Woodlands.

Both Andy and Anna are experienced Lichenologists and have recently produced two laminated sheets for Plantlife on this subject.

  • Guide1 : covers Lichens on Ash, Hazel, Willow, Rowan and old Oak.
  • Guide 2: covers Birch, Alder and Oak.

These are available from Waterstones at £3.50 each.

The meeting is also open to people interested in joining this large, lively and expert group whose membership is over 100 and growing.
