Inveraray to launch a new Grade 2 Pipe Band

Word in piping circles is that Stuart Liddell, Pipe Major of Inveraray & District Pipe Band – now Champion of Champions in the Juvenile section at the first time of asking – is to launch a Grade 2 band to give those moving on from the younger sections a further challenge to take on together. This speaks strongly of the forethought and planning which has been a hallmark of the Inveraray band’s growth and success. There are some long faces, though, in other Argyll bands who had privately hoped to inherit some of the young Inveraray pipers when their time came to leave the Juveniles. Their own disappointment apart, they still salute the concept and the thinking behind Liddell’s move.
