Inveraray Community Council - with six months to go in its current term, has decided to dissolve itself now in order to be able to reconstitute, with some new members, for a further full term.
John Patrick, former Chair, explained that, after the sad death of previous Chair, Jim Linley and with ccasional illness or absences, the Community Council had sometimes found itself inquorate. They therefore decided to dissolve now and invite new members from the Community to stand for the Community Council. Mr Patrick said: ‘It will be healthy for democracy if we get a lot of new people standing. ‘ He sees the profile of the Community Council as being at an all-time high through the major improvements it has driven for the town. The road works will complete shortly. The town won the battle for a radical revision of its sewage works - now completed. The new town website has been attracting very significant traffic. And, of course, this year’s Connect Festival is on the near horizon.
