Comment posted Scottish Government support for Arctic Convoy medal – but why not award a Scottish medal? by Iain McCallum.
Absolutely scandalous. And the longer it goes on the louder the condemnation should be. These few (and getting fewer) brave (mad??) men that have been recognised by Russia (the enemy?) and totally ignored by succesive governemtns of this once Great Britainand the efforts they gave within living memory should bring endless shame on this lot espaecuially who i believe promised to present them with medals.

- Welcome initiative from Smith Commission on votes for 16 and 17 year olds
I was worried when I heard on the radio that a school(s) provided counselling and support the day after the referendum! Surely if the youngsters are too immature to accept losing a vote, they might not be mature enough to take part in electing a government
- Lifeline for wildlife – 5p per carrier bag in Scotland from today
I asked one of our idiot AMs down here why the tax on paper bags, and the reason given was that it was due to the process in producing them! It makes no difference really. If I want a bag I buy one, sometimes I take my own, and when I spend about £100 on shopping another £1 for 10 bags makes no odds here or there
- MacAskill damaging record at Justice and Policing but right on Megrahi
Most forces down here have gone to wearing black wickin (? Not witches!) shirts. Probably cheaper, but equally more comfortable while wearing for 10/12 hour shifts, and more practical. And Americans have got a cheek, when everyone down to security in shopping centres are carrying guns over there. Wearing a black t-shirt and protective clothing does not make them SWAT, although armed officers are regularly sights even down here in Welsh Wales
- Out of control Salmond scores own goal on poll-tax
I might still be in a minority of one (and escaped before the practise year), but in theory the Poll Tax was a good idea, the actual practicality and the fact they experimented on Scotland was less than good. Payment per house according to how many folk used the services ,rather than just according to the price of your house, regardless of how many folk live in that house. But hey ho, the 2 of us now pay the same as the next door neighbours who have 5 living in their house.
