Comment posted Scottish Government support for Arctic Convoy medal – but why not award a Scottish medal? by Iain McCallum.
Absolutely scandalous. And the longer it goes on the louder the condemnation should be. These few (and getting fewer) brave (mad??) men that have been recognised by Russia (the enemy?) and totally ignored by succesive governemtns of this once Great Britainand the efforts they gave within living memory should bring endless shame on this lot espaecuially who i believe promised to present them with medals.

- Alarmingly revelatory Police Scotland statement on Inverness armed officer incident
Down here in Wales my understanding is that firearms officers are routinely armed with handguns on their hip and larger firearms locked in cabinet in the vehicle. They are often sent to calls when no-one else is available and don’t leave their pistols (or Tasers) in the car. And to be honest there are so few of them, and we rarely see them that no-one really gives a hoot. The problems is exacerbated by the fear of the Police Service of saying it as it is, because they are afraid to upset anyone.

- The Seven Leaders debate
Hear hear. We are going down the American route of personality over policies. If you base your precious vote on the sound bite displays over a mere 2 hour period it shows what is wrong with our democracy. I will qualify my views with the fact I could not bring myself to watch this, same as I can’t listen to QT and PMQs.
- One Vote for the Union – but why?
I thought they were still investigating whether that was the case or not. Seems that fact can be anything you choose it to be, regardless of evidence. That is why people, usually dead, are sentenced at the court of public opinion nowadays, rather than courts of law
- Green MSP drives fans’ legal ‘right to buy’ football clubs
And it is all well and good telling clubs to offer first refusal to fans, but we are not Germany, the clubs are structured differently, and who is going to lend the fans money to invest in precarious ventures such as football clubs? Not the Scottish Government using working peoples taxes I hope
