Hi Chaps re dispatch of HMS Daring to the Iranian Gulf…unless I mis-read it, found your report on this subject highly offensive and an insult to the brave women and men who are prepared to risk life and limb on our behalf.
Daring was built in Scotland and is based in my home town Portsmouth.
Just thought I had to say something about this

For Bob Hove: Read it again. We said nothing nor do we feel anything at all derogatory about the crew or the ship – each of which we support and admire (although we except the MoD’s procurement processes from our admiration and support).
This article is about the political machinations that, unless we are very lucky, will lead us into an unnecessary and manufactured war with Iran.

I just wanted to express my sadness at hearing that Margaret Annfield, Co-ordinator of the North Argyll Car Scheme had passed away.
This lady helped make my life as a long distance carer much easier and my mum would not have been able to attend hospital and doctor’s appointments without this invaluable service. Sadly residents living in rural parts of Argyll often find themselves severely disadvantaged because of their location. The North Argyll Car Scheme has helped to go some way to remedy this.
My mum and I will always be grateful to Margaret for setting up this invaluable service – as we are to the many selfless volunteers who continue to keep it running today.

Response times are becoming very slow from any of the fibre optic connections I use in West London.
