Cars, team back up wagons and food vans on A83 for weekend MACH 1 Stages Rally at Machrihanish

The A83 south to the Machrihanish Airbase track for the MACH 1 Tarmack Stages Rally tomorrow and Sunday, 11th and 12th July, has seen a trail of cars on trailers, back up team trucks and food vans today, to get set up for the first day of the Rally tomorrow.

Last year’s inaugural event was a revving success and this year’s promises to raise the bar again.

Both days look as if they’ll have the odd light shower and cloud cover = but nothing to damp the roar of the engines and the crowds.

Details are here at our earlier article Spectator guide and side attractions for Kintyre’s 2015 MACH 2 Stages Rally.

Not an event to miss.

  • WOW…hope this event doesn’t interfere with the well-off punters on board the small cruise ship “Island Sky” which departed Greenock this evening and will be landing many golfers at Campbeltown on Sunday to participate in a golfing event at Machrihanish golf course at the start of their golf-themed cruise clockwise around Scottish ports towards Dundee to participate in spectator events at the Open Golf Championships at St. Andrews.

    • Both of these events are good news for an area working hard to develop its local economy.
The MACH 1 Stages Rally has been advertised for these dates for a considerable time so the organiser of the very welcome golfing expedition would have been aware of it; and the two are not contingent.
