In another fun initiative from the go ahead team at the spectacular Portavadie Marina in Cowal, there is a Marine Fashion Show there on 6th August, from 13.00 – 17.00, with shows at 14.00, 15.00 and 16.00.
Hosted by Marilyn Monroe tribute artist, Unmistakably Marilyn (will she sing a husky Happy Birthday Portavadie?), the shows will preview the 2012 Spring and Summer collections.
Brand experts will be present and there will be a Beauty and Wellness stand.
In keeping with the maritime glamour of the event, there will be an Oyster Bar alongside a Champagne Bar – £6 a glass and £35 a bottle.
With the first show at 14.00, lunch beforehand at the marina’s waterfront restaurant would be a neat prelude to the serious business of deck gear and shore-going gear.
As well as the restaurant, the Lodge is also now open, with a clever part-covered outdoor eating area (above) beside a light-filled interior (below). Serving breakfast, lunch and supper, it is just inside the marina complex by the Portavadie Ferry slipway. Very handy.
We’re hoping it will start serving snacks in between mealtimes – and the ability to grab a great takeaway coffee and a really super sandwich – nothing fancy, just really good bread, simple first class ingredients and lots of butter and mayo – to rush on to the ferry with… well, we can dream.
