A plea – if Theresa May becomes PM

Let’s have a leading politician who does not Twitter.

There is a Twitter account in May’s name which would seem to be operated by her office but not by herself.

It would be a refreshing – and reassuring – first to see even this half hearted engagement abandoned.

This country – and politics – is in need of a leader who is content to  be measured on action and achievement rather than by the trivialising mix of narcissism, inanity and scheming that characterises the twitter feeders.

And as for selfies….

  • Cameron, Osborne and Johnson, typical Bullingdon Club boys…they dress up, enjoy a good dinner, make grand speeches, trash the place and swan off leaving someone else to clear up the mess.

There’s something more fundamentally at fault than a twitter account.

  • I for one agree. There is way to much inane garbage on social media and constant drip feed of every thought and action by politicians. I DON’T CARE. It is nothing more than voyerism and feeding the popularist majority.
Just get on with the job of spending quality time making good decisions, using the best brains and based on the best and most complete evidence and analysis for the country.

You’re in the job to be a strategic leader, which probably means doing things a lot of people won’t like, but most people don’t have access to the full details nor can often see beyond their own circumstance or immediate time horizon.
