Boris Johnson bows out – Gove shafting proved fatal

In a press conference thought to be – and feeling like – about launching his candidacy for the conservative leadership – Boris Johnson concluded by saying that for those patiently waiting for his punchline, after consultations on the next leader of the Conservative party, he had concluded that ‘that person cannot be me’.

Michael Gove’s belated shafting of Johnson has clearly been fatal.

Whichever side of the EU Referendum anyone was on, it can safely be said that they will feel that Boris Johnson deserved to be Prime Minister and has been robbed of it.

    • The same ‘children’ are now piously repeating the mantra that the people have spoken, that democracy is sacrosanct, that therefore their will must be done.
Nothing about comprehensively pulling the wool over the voters’ eyes, about gross abuse of democracy, about whipping up prejudice for the benefit of their grubby political ambitions.
