Argyll and Bute Citizens Advice Bureau is delighted with the recent announcement that funding for the Armed Services Advice Project is to continue for a further 3 years.
The project, funded by Poppyscotland and Royal British Legion, began in October 2014 and has helped armed services personnel, their families and veterans from all over
Project adviser, Sandra Staniland, has seen a steady increase in referrals to her and assists clients with immediate advice on benefits, housing, debt.She also refers clients to other specialist partner organisations for specific help.Argyll and Bute.
Councillor and MSP, Maurice Corry – pictures left with Sandra Staniland, Argyll and Bute Council’s Armed Forces Champion, says: ‘This is fantastic news for this project for the next three years and all the service personnel and families who will be supported through it. My hearty congratulations to Sandra and the CAB and wish them every success.’
Jane MacLeod, Chair of the Board of the CAB says: ‘The value to Argyll and Bute of this project’s continuation is almost £150,000 but the value to the individuals it assists will be immeasurable. The Board and I are delighted with this announcement.’
