Oban lifeboat out again – third shout in three days

Oban RNLI lifeboat, the redoubtable Mora Edith Macdonald, launched at 09.46 this morning, 26th March 2016, to investigate reports of a boat adrift, spotted from Connel.
The volunteer crew – on their third shout in three days – proceeded to the scene and by 10.10 the vessel had been located off Ardmucknish Bay.
On investigation it could be seen that the small speedboat – which looked as if it had been unused for some time, had been tied up somewhere, but the mooring had parted.
As a result, the lifeboat took the vessel under tow [shown above] into Dunstaffnage Marina for the Coastguard to inspect.

The lifeboat then returned to station at Port Ban where she was refuelled and made ready for service again by 11.00.
