Police Service for Scotland, Lochgilphead: police reports for week to 21st March 2016

No MOT

About 10.20am on Thursday 17th March, a vehicle was stopped by Police on the A83 at Lochgilphead. Checks revealed that the vehicle allegedly had an expired MOT and the driver, a 68 year old man was charged and issued with a £100 Fixed Penalty.

Theft of Logs

Between 12.00pm and 12.30pm on Thursday 17th March, a quantity of chopped logs were stolen from the garden of Inveryne Cottage [opposite the Council Yard], Bishopton Road, Lochgilphead. Police are investigating the incident and are looking to identify a black car that was seen in the vicinity at the time. Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information to contact them on 101 or anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Littering

About 8.50am on Friday 18th March, at the Mid Argyll Community Hospital Car Park, persons were seen to exit a silver car and dump litter over a hedge. Police are investigating the incident and are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information to contact them on 101 or anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Theft of Cash

About 10.00am on Friday 18th March, a sum of cash in a white bag was stolen from the Thrift Charity shop, Harbour Street, Tarbert. Police are investigating the incident and are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information to contact them on 101 or anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Possession of Drugs

About 4.30pm on Saturday 19th March, in Lochnell Street, Lochgilphead, a 29 year old man was searched and allegedly found in possession of Cannabis. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

Possession of Drugs

About 8.45am, on Sunday 20th March, on the A83 at Furnace, a car was stopped for a routine check, following a search, the driver, 36 year old man was allegedly found to be in possession of a small quantity of Cannabis. A Recorded Police Warning was issued.

Drunk Driver, No Insurance, Provisional Licence

About 9.35am on Sunday 20th March, on the A83 near Cairndow, a car was stopped for a routine check. The 62 year old man who was driving was arrested for allegedly driving while under the influence of alcohol, driving without Insurance and on a Provisional Licence without Supervision or ‘L’ Plates. A report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
