Oban Lifeboat on shout to medical emergency on board luxury cruise ship

Oban RNLI lifeboat launched yesterday evening, Monday 21 March, to a medical emergency on board the luxury small cruise ship Hebridean Princess.The Mora Edith Macdonald was requested to launch at 22.09 to attend a medical emergency aboard with the Hebridean Princess at anchor in Oban Bay.The lifeboat had its own doctor on board – a regular member of the volunteer crew, along with two paramedics. Once the casualty had been stabilised, the transfer to the lifeboat took place and, once back at the lifeboat’s berth at Port Ban i Oban, a second transfer on to a waiting ambulance.

Oban lifeboat returned to station where she was refuelled and made ready for service again by 23.20.
