Police Service for Scotland, Lochgilphead: police reports for week to 31st January 2016

Possession of Drugs

About 1.40am, on Tuesday 26th January, on the A83 in Ardrishaig, a car was stopped and searched and a 33 year old man was allegedly found to be in possession of a small quantity of Cannabis. A Recorded Police Warning was issued.

 Defective Tyre

About 3.30am on Thursday 28th January, in Furnace, a van was stopped for a routine check and one of the tyres on the van was allegedly found to be badly worn. The driver, a 42 year old man was charged with the offence and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.


About 4.00pm on Thursday 28th January, a disturbance was reported at a house in Kilmichael Glassary, Lochgilphead. Police attended and carried out enquiries and subsequently a 63 year old man was arrested charged with alleged Assault and Abusive behaviour. A 32 year old man was also arrested and charged with alleged Assault. A report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

 Drunk Driver

About 4.00pm on Friday 29th January, a member of the public reported that a vehicle was being driven on Brunswick Street, Tarbert by a man who was under the influence of alcohol. The 56 year old man who was driving was traced by Police and arrested for allegedly driving while under the influence of alcohol. The man was also charged with alleged abusive behaviour and failing to disclose the identity of the driver of the vehicle when required. A report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
