Backing for the 2016 Small Business Saturday – this Saturday – 5th December, has come from Jamie McGrigor, Highlands & Islands Conservative MSP and his colleague, Donald Cameron, the party’s candidate for Argyll and Bute in next year’s Holyrood elections.
The two are urging residents across Argyll & Bute to choose to support local shops and businesses especially strongly on that day.
Donald Cameron says: ‘Argyll & Bute has many excellent small, independent retailers and businesses but they are under ever increasing pressure from supermarkets and from online competition which seems to intensify every year.
‘Small Business Saturday is a good opportunity for local residents to show their support for the small businesses that are such an important part of our town centres and village communities. I hope many people will visit a local shop or other business on Saturday.’
Jamie McGrigor MSP says: ‘I commend the FSB and other organisations for their work in supporting Small Business Saturday and wish this year’s day every success.
‘The small business sector is the backbone of the Argyll & Bute economy and all of us should get behind the many distinct local companies in our area.’
