Motorists using the A83 between Glenbarr and Killegruer in Kintyre are advised of resurfacing works to be carried out throughout November to Mid-December.
As well as a new surface and road markings, the road will be widened at this section to help improve safety for trunk road traffic.
The works, which will begin on Tuesday 10th November and are likely to take up to five weeks to complete, will be carried out between 7am and 7pm each day from Monday to Friday with no works planned at weekends.
To ensure the safety of road users and road workers during the improvements, two way traffic signals will be in operation during the first three weeks of the works followed by a day-time 10mph convoy system for two weeks during resurfacing. The convoy system will not be in operation overnight, however a reduced speed limit will be in place as traffic will be running over a temporary surface.
Eddie Ross, BEAR Scotland’s North West Unit Representative for the North West Unit, says: ‘These essential works will address the narrow road width at this section as well as any defects in the road surface, enhancing the safety of the A83 at this location.
‘Some delays are inevitable and we would therefore encourage motorists to plan their journey ahead, where possible.’
