Baillie welcomes Awards for All funding for two local initiatives

Local Labour MSP, Jackie Baillie, has congratulated two local groups on their successful applications for lottery funding worth over £14,000. This has come from the Awards for All pot in the Big Lottery Fund.

Rosneath Peninsula West Community Development Trust has received £9749, enabling the group to create a safe but challenging toddler area within a wider outdoor play project at Craigrownie Park in the Rosneath Peninsula. This group recently crossed their funding threshold target to allow them to create Craigrownie Park as a community facility. The equipping of the toddler area with this assistance from Awards For All is another positive step forwards in making this happen.

Dunbartonshire Disability Sports Club has received £4875 – funding a swimming project for disabled children.

Both groups have shown their dedication to bringing local people together, helping people learn, improving local spaces and getting more people active.

Ms Baillie has written to both groups to congratulate them on their success. She says: ‘It was wonderful to hear that these two well-deserving groups have received the Awards for All grant.

‘Their dedication to improving local areas serves as a great model of community engagement and these projects deliver services that are relevant and crucial to a building a stronger community.

‘I am supportive of all local groups applying for such grants, and I will do whatever I can to support their application.’
