Works begin on Monday 21 September for one week on section of footpath on Barmore Road, just north of Tarbert village in Kinthyre.
This is to be upgraded with new surfacing and with the installation of kerbs to enhance pedestrian safety.
Works to the 40m section of the A83 will begin on Monday 21 September and are likely to take up to one week to complete. The works are to be carried out between 7am and 7pm each day, with no works planned for the weekend.
Due to the nature of the works and to ensure the safety of road workers and road users temporary traffic lights will be in operation whilst the works are carried out.
The new kerb line will require adequate time to set and as a result traffic management will remain in place as motorists will be passing an open excavation.
Eddie Ross, BEAR Scotland’s Representative for the North West, says: ‘These essential footway improvements will enhance the safety of pedestrians on this section of the A83.
‘To give our teams safe working room to upgrade the footway temporary lights will be in use, however we will try to reduce disruption to the A83 as much as possible.’
