  • HIE opens new business hosting facility at Sandbank near Dunoon
I take it from the above that this facility was opened 10 months ago and from what George says it is still empty. Does this tell you something? Wrong facility in the wrong place? too high a rent for that class of building? no IT facilities required in Dunoon? Maybe instead of concentrating on “in vogue” style businesses they should be building good old manufacturing units for smaller companies to thrive! I have no idea but something must be wrong with their projections
  • With Heb Isles in for repairs, CalMac charters replacement vessel to reduce underprovision for Islay
unlikely the bullshit will be left on the mainland. I remember Alan Reid “holding to account” BT and several other telecom providers regarding the state of broadband and the mobile phone services. That was very funny as I am sure that was done with everyone involved agreement. If the meeting on Islay provides the same entertainment it would be worth listening to, but don’t expect too many “results”

the talk I hear at the moment is that the captain that hit the pier also hit the dock when taking the ferry for repair!! Anyone else heard this or is it just pub talk and a little stirring????

love a bit of spin, “technical Issues” the damn thing hit the pier – how can that be “technical” laziness, lack of attention, lack of skill, steering a boat without due care and attention, maybe but “technical” I doubt very much. The traveller suffers yet again
  • Charity seeks volunteers for 2016 Great British Beach Clean
there are some that would link the rise in beach litter (and litter in general) is proportional to the number of immigrants being brought into the country. I cannot say if this is true or not but what is abundantly clear is that the teaching of youngsters about how to dispose of rubbish correctly is generally falling. I was told to pick up litter by my parents and also take my litter home, I taught my family to do the same, clearly this is part of the problem and until the core problem is addressed then it will remain the same.
