Western’s vehicle and passenger ferry service between Dunoon and Gourock is running on both Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
On the 25th December the service is hourly from 10.00 to 21.00 from Hunter’s Quay, Dunoon; and from 10.30 to 21.30 from McInroy’s Point, Gourock.
On the 26th December the service is half hourly from Dunoon between 10.00 and 18.00 and hourly from then until 21.00; and at Gourock, half hourly from 10.30 to 18.30, then hourly until 21.30.
Advance notice for Western’s service on New Year’s Eve is that it will run its normal timetable until an earlier last sailing at 21.00 from Dunoon and 21.30 from Gourock.
On all other dates, Western’s normal timetable obtains.
The Clydelink ferry passenger service between Gourock adn Kilcreggan does not run on 25th and 26th December.
The Argyll Ferries passenger service between Gourock and Dunoon town centres does not run on 25th December; but runs its Sunday timetable on 26th December.
Advance notice for the new year period is that on 31st December, the last sailings will leave Gourock at 21.20 and Dunnoon at 21.45. There will be no service on 1st January 2o14. The Sunday timetable will operate on 2nd January.
CalMac services do not run on 25th December – although one special service is to run between the Western Isles and Skye. This is an effort to get islanders home on Christmas Day since ferry services on Christmas Eve were almost wholly storm disrupted, with few sailings – and none to the Western Isles.

- Uig -Lochmaddy 0940;
- Lochmaddy – Tarbert 1150
Most CalMac services run on 26th December, with all back in service on 27th December.
Corran Ferry, Argyll and Bute Council
Argyll and Bute Council’s vehicle and passenger ferry service between Corran Ferry, north of Ballachulish and Ardgour on the Ardnamurchan peninsula does not run on either 26th December or 2nd January 2014.
Note: We have no information on the operation of Argyll and Bute Council’s ferry services between Port Askaig on Islay and Feolin on Jura; or between the Argyll mainland and the Slate Isles of Easdale and Luing.
