Almost no ferries moving this morning in storm wind conditions

11.15: Western Ferries has just suspended sailings until a review at 14.oo. It is the last of the ferry services to suspend or cancel services in the current stormy conditions.

None of Argyll’s ferry services are now able to operate.

Across the west coast as well as the Clyde, ferries have been cancelled or are suspended pending afternoon reviews.

Realistically, with winds predicted to strengthen, resumption of service is unlikely.

.CalMac’s service from Oban to Craignure on Mull is making a situation review at 13.00 wiht a view to seeing if it can run a service out of Oban at 14.00 and out of Craignure around 15.00 – which just might be a weather window for them. The ferry operator is warning that IF these sailings can be made, they are likely to be the last today .

At the moment, none of Argyll’s roads are notified as closed or restricted. The Erskine Bridge at Glasgow is warning of high winds and the need for care – but remains open even to high-sided vehicles.
