This one is endlessly irresistible. Dr Sam Jones, press officer and member of the volunteer crew of the Tobermory Lifeboat took shots on her iphone while professional photographer, Nigel Millard was taking the unforgettable shot, above, of the children of the current Tobermory Lifeboat crew, during the preparation of the book and exhibition for the RNLI: The Lifeboat: Courage on our Coasts, by Nigel Millard and Huw Lewis-Jones.

Dr Jones got a sneak preview of the book when she was at the Lifeboat College two weeks ago  and says: ‘It’s great: not just lifeboats in big seas but fundraisers and shore crew and families.’

The show-stopper Future Crew photograph by Nigel Millard was memorable even as they were getting ready for it – and Sam Jones kept her iphone clicking to show this glorious back story.

There is also a shot that includes the geneses of the Future Crew, looking very proud of the handover to come later on down the line.

The Lifeboat: Courage on our Coasts, by Nigel Millard and Huw Lewis-Jone. The exhibition is on a UK tour and the book  is available from rnlishop.org or Amazon and other good book stores.
