Serious motorbike crash at Strone Point on Bank Holiday Sunday

Two motorbikes collided yesterday morning, 29th September, at the accident black spot of Strone Point, on the A83 north of Inveraray on the northern headland of Loch Shira

At about 11.45, a Honda going North and a Yamaha going south collided at this dangerous corner.

The male riders were both seriously injured. One was taken to Glasgow ‘s Southern General Hospital and the other to Paisley’s Royal Alexandra Hospital. Both are still being treated.

With the A83 closed in both directions, bank holiday weekend traffic was backed up for around two hours.

Police Scotland are asking any witnesses to the incident to make contact with them, either via  phoning 101 or via the Road Policing Unit on 01389 822000.
