Lochgilphead Police success in tracing dangerous drivers in Cairnbaan incident on 8th August

At 6.00pm on Thursday 8th August – on the Lochgilphead to Cairnbaan road (A816),  a light green Vauxhall Corsa motor car and a Turquoise Honda Civic motor car were travelling north towards Cairnbaan when they overtook two cyclists and two other motor cars, causing three southbound motor cars to brake to avoid a collision.

Lochgilphead Police put out an immediate Witness Appeal, hoping to be able to trace and speak to the two cyclists, the occupants of the two northbound cars and the three southbound cars who might have witnessed this incident.

The Witness Appeal was successful, resulting in the two cyclists being traced.

As a result of subsequent enquiries, two local men (both aged 19) have been charged with Dangerous Driving and have been reported to the Procurator Fiscal.
