Police Scotland, Lochgilphead: police reports for week to 15th July 2013

Theft of Tools
Between 3.30pm on Tuesday 9th July and 8.30am on Wednesday 10th July a property undergoing refurbishment in Dalmally Road, Inveraray was entered and a quantity of tools and equipment stolen.
Police are keen to speak to two male occupants of a silver Rover 25 car which attended at the location about 3pm on Tuesday 9th July. The male passenger of the car exited and asked about borrowing a jerry can as his friend had run out of fuel. The male is described as white, aged between 21 to 24, light brown to ginger hair with a scar above his left eye. He was wearing a t-shirt and shorts and spoke with a Glasgow accent.

Disqualified Driving
At 5.20pm on Wednesday 10th July police stopped a car in Bishopton Road, Lochgilphead. At this time the 47 year old male driver was arrested for driving whilst disqualified and his car seized by police.

Vandalism
At 1.30am on Friday 12th July a window was smashed by stone throwing at a property in Castle Street, Tarbert.

Between midnight and 00.15am on Friday 12th July a window was smashed by unknown means at the Harbour Building, Harbour Street, Tarbert.

Breach of Bail
At 11.00am on Tuesday 9th July a 17 year old male breached his bail conditions by approaching a female at Whitegates Court, Lochgilphead and thereafter committing a breach of the peace.
The male was subsequently arrested  on Friday 12 July and held as a custody to attend court on Monday 15th July.

Theft of Dinghy
Between midday on Wednesday 3rd July and 7pm on Friday 12th July an Avon 9ft grey dinghy with the name ‘Vaila’ on the side and ‘Malindi’  on the bottom, was stolen from the Tarbert Yacht Club.
This dinghy has been stolen previously, however after being reported within the local paper, mysteriously returned.

Careless Driving
Between 7.40pm and 8pm on Friday 12th July a black Honda Civic was seen to be driving carelessly on the A83 at Tarbert by following cars closely from behind and swerving across the carriageway. Police traced the car and the 22 year old male driver has been reported to the Procurator Fiscal for careless driving.

Camper Van on Fire
At 2.10pm on Saturday 13th July the emergency services were called to a report of a camper van on fire on the A819, north of Inveraray. The roadway was closed while the fire was put out and gas canisters on board the camper van were cooled down.
The husband and wife occupants of the van, who were touring the area, were not injured and were later uplifted by a representative of the camper van hire company.
There were no suspicious circumstances and the roadway was opened up later with traffic lights.
