In an new communal initiative, Ross of Mull and Iona Development Group (ROMID) has applied to the National Forest Land Scheme (NFLS) to purchase land at Glen Seilisdeir Forest at Tiroran on the Isle of Mull.
Administered by Forestry Commission Scotland, this highly regarded scheme gives communities the opportunity to bid to buy or lease national forest land on the basis that it provides increased public benefits.
The Ross of Mull and Iona group aims to secure regeneration in their area and strengthen their assets for the good of the community.
A 28-day open consultation period is required by the scheme and public comments on any aspect of the proposal are welcome.
