The pagers went off at 08.24 last Friday, 19th April, for the crew of Oban Lifeboat.
The fishing boat, FV Kyrene, had developed a faulty rudder, south of the Isle of Kerrera and had requested assistance.
Within 20 minutes - by 08.44 – the crew were on board, Mora Edith Macdonald, the Oban lifeboat, was on her way, had located the fishing boat in the area and had established a tow.
Kyrene was towed to the railway pier in Oban where it was secured safely alongside by 09.40.
Then, for the volunteer crew, it was off to the other jobs.
