Strathclyde Police Lochgilphead: Police reports and witness appeals for week to 11th March 2013

Fail to report Accident
Following enquiries into an incident where a car left the B8024 road near Tarbert on 26th February, a 46 year old man has been traced and charged with allegedly failing to report an accident to Police. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

No Insurance and No MOT – Vehicle seizure
About 2.30pm on Tuesday 6th March, a van was stopped in Chalmers Street, Ardrishaig by Police for a routine check, subsequently the driver, a 46 year old man was charged with allegedly having no insurance and no MOT for the van and the vehicle was seized. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

No Insurance
About 7.00pm on Tuesday 6th March, a car was stopped on the A83 near Lochgilphead for a routine check, subsequent enquiries revealed that the driver, a 60 year old man was allegedly not insured to drive the vehicle and he will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal.

No Insurance – Vehicle seizure
About 10.30am on Wednesday 7th March, a van was stopped on the A83 at Kilmory, Lochgilphead by Police for a routine check, subsequently the driver, a 36 year old man was charged with allegedly having no insurance for the van and the vehicle was seized. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

Assault and Abusive Behaviour
About 5.15pm on Friday 8th March, in Furnace, a 62 year old man was arrested and charged with allegedly assaulting another man and abusive behaviour. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

Noise Disturbance, Abusive Behaviour, Police Assault and Resist Arrest
About 3.50am on Saturday 9th March, Police attended a noise disturbance within a flat in Campbell Street, Lochgilphead, as a result, a 32 year old woman was charged with allegedly causing a noise disturbance. At the same incident, a 22 year old woman was arrested and charged with alleged Abusive Behaviour, Police Assault and Resisting Arrest. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

Damage to Door – Witness Appeal
Between 6.00pm on Friday 8th and 10.00am on Saturday 9th March, a door to a close in Harbour Street, Tarbert was damaged. Police are appealing for any witness or anyone with any information to contact them on 01546 702200.

Damage to Door – Witness Appeal
Between 10.00pm on Friday 8th and 10.00am on Saturday 9th March, a door on an out building at a house in Furnace was damaged. Police are appealing for any witness or anyone with any information to contact them on 01546 702200.

Breach of the Peace and Drinking in Public
About 1.30am on Sunday 10th March, in Lochnell Street, Lochgilphead, a 40 year old woman was arrested for a Breach of the Peace and for consuming alcohol in public. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

Damage to Fuel Tank – Witness Appeal
Between 5.00pm on Monday 4th and 8.00am on Monday 11th March, damage was caused to a fuel gauge and a protective guard of an Oil tank at the rear of Council Premises in Manse Brae, Lochgilphead. Police are appealing for any witness or anyone with any information to contact them on 01546 702200.

  1. You wouldn’t be laughing if you had been the innocent party involved in an accident with someone without an MOT and/or insurance.

    • Lowry – I agree completely and I wasn’t trying to play down the seriousness of the offences. I was simply trying to highlight, possibly wrongly thru’ humour, the fact that society tends to focus on how irresponsible ‘boy racers’ are today.

      Did you happen to look at the ages of the people cautioned.
