Roads, Schools, Trees, Mobile signal and even ForArgyll.com fall foul of the snow

We’re struggling with lack of broadband at the moment, so normal service will resume when we can! In the meantime, schools, mobile signals, roads and the occasional tree have all struggled to cope with today’s weather.

The wintry is expected to continue all day, and the advice is, don’t travel if you don’t have to.

  1. I was told by someone from one of the mobile phone companies some years ago that the majority of their base stations either have no battery backup or very limited backup of just a few minutes i.e. just enough to stop the system crashing (like a computer) during short breaks.
