Writing competition

2Impress – a service dedicated to seeing new writers’ work published and which worked last year on the Lomond Writers Gathering,  are running a new writing competition: The Caring Kind.
The object of the competition is to highlight good writing and give new and valid writers a chance of publication.
On this occasion there is a secondary objective – as well as giving the rest of us a good read, the stories must highlight the life of the Carer and those needing constant care.
The extent to which submissions deliver on that secondary brief will be part of the considerations in the judging process.
Because entry fees go towards the cost of publication, no cash prizes are given  but winners will receive a printed copy of the resulting published anthology.
Each author may submit up to two entries.
Entries may be prose or poetry, with 700-2000 words the goalposts for prose pieces; and 30 lines the limit for poems.
There is a separate competition for junior writers [free entry] – with a word limit of 1,000 for prose pieces; and a 20 line limit for poems.
The closing date is 28th June 2013.
