Thumbs up from Dalintober for South Kintyre Development Trust taking on Campbeltown Town Hall

South Kintyre Development Trust has visited the Dalintober Millknowe Monday Social Club [pictured below] to find out what they think about the proposal to transfer the Campbeltown Town Hall from Argyll & Bute Council’s ownership to community ownership through the South Kintyre Development Trust.

The group was very interested in the proposal and plans and shared their memories of Campbeltown Town Hall.

Folk were pleased that the Trust had plans to renovate the building and re-open it for community use again, with better (or improved) disability access.

This is also a goodbye to the South Kintyre Development Trust project’s dedicated temporary Project Animateur, Deirdre Henderson.

Deirdre is moving to work for Argyll and Bute Council as the Macmillan Cancer Information & Support Service Manager, developing what will be a new service, based in Campbeltown Library.

This means that it is also hello to Tracy Grant as the new [ish] Local Development Officer for the South Kintyre Development Trust. She took over from Malcolm McMillan and has been in post for a couple of months – based in the SKDT’s office in Burnside Square in Campbeltown.
