Oban Mountain Rescue team, a coastguard search team and the marine unit from Strathclyde Police have been searching the shores of Loch Awe between Loch Awe village in the area dominated by Kilchurn Castle at the head of the loch.
They have been searching for 25 year old Michael Pringle who has been fishing and camping in the area with his father. They had visited the Tight Line pub in Loch Awe village together and got separated as they were walking back along the A85 to their campsite at around one 0clock on Sunday morning [3rd February].
Mr Pringle is from Kilmarnock and is evidently not familiar with the Loch Awe area, which is heightening fears for his safety.
He is described as being around 5ft 9in in height, of slim build, with short dark hair. He is said to have been wearing a green camouflage-type jacket over fishing waders.
The search for him was called off with the onset of night but will be resumed tomorrow morning, 5th February.
