BBC ALBA is bringing another glimpse of other people’s business lives.
This time it’s matters maritime, the business is that of shipping agents, the location is Stornoway in the Western Isles and the programme is Trusadh: Stornoway Maritime Matters, airing on Monday 11th February from 17:30–19:30.
Norman and Alastair MacArthur are the two shipping agents in question, offering a comprehensive range of services for vessels of all kinds and sizes, through their company, Stornoway Shipping Services.
They’re on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
With almost 40 years of experience to draw on, they claim to offer a ‘first-class professional service’ – and the things they get asked to do – and deliver – testify to their dedication.
Ready, waiting – and at the beck and call of any ship’s captain visiting Stornoway – the duo will turn their hand to anything.
From magnifying glasses and boiler suits for the ship’s crew to organising medevac and repatriation services for its passengers: no job is too small or too large – and no distance is too great.
With cruise ships bringing passengers by their thousands, yachts and fishing boats all in need of their services, it looks like Norman and Alastair are in for a busy summer.
In this Trusadh programme, we will all see how they get on.
Trusadh: Stornoway Maritime Matters is produced for BBC ALBA by MacTV and will be transmitted on Monday 11 February at 9.00pm.
