Dalintober Primary to start oral history project for Campbeltown Town Hall

The South Kintyre Development Trust has paid a visit to Primary 6 pupils at Dalintober Primary School to talk about the Campbeltown Town Hall project.

The pupils had already been doing a lot of work looking at the history of the Town Hall and creating artworks around it.

They had then come up with a wish list of activities that could go on in the Town Hall once it is refurbished – and  understood well why the Town Hall needed to be done up and made more accessible for everyone in the community to use.

The Dalintober pupils are about to start work on an oral history project with Argyll FM, Inspiralba and the South Kintyre Development Trust – funded by the Campbeltown Townscape Heritage Initiative (THI).

They will be learning skills in planning and recording oral history to produce a radio show to be aired on Argyll FM.

The information they gather will be part of the ongoing development of a community archive to be held at  Campbeltown Town Hall.
