Watch for Mull wildlife photographer’s TV series on polar bears

Gordon Buchanan, the well known wildlife photographer from Mull, has a series of three programmes coming up on BBC2 – starting on Monday night – 7th January – at 21.30, with episodes 2 and three shown on Tuesday 8th January and on Thursday 10th January.

Titled The Polar Bear Family and Me, this is the outcome of a year spent following a female adult polar bear and her two cubs in Norway.

The photographer was often working in storm conditions and in very low temperatures – focused on polar bears who may be cute but who pack a lethal claw.

This series promises the spectacular, the sentimental and the terrifying. It would be on many people’s ‘watch’ list anyway  but the local interest will give it that extra ‘Je ne sais quoi…’
