Sweden’s Arise windpower to develop major wind farm for Argyll Estates

Sweden’s Arise Windpower AB has announced that it has signed an exclusivity agreement with Argyll Estates with the right to develop plans for a wind farm with up to 35 turbines and to apply for the planning permission on the estates.

Arise is legally required to publish this information under the Swedish Securities Market Act (2007:528) and/or the Swedish Financial Instruments Trading Act (1991:980). It was released for publication at 15.00 today, 31st January 2013.

The announcement says:

‘Arise plans to file the application for planning permission within 24 months. The site has excellent wind conditions and is situated on the west coast of Scotland. If successful, construction can begin in 2016 at the earliest.

‘Arise intends to sign more agreements in Scotland giving the right to develop large estates with the objective to realise construction between 2016 and 2018.

‘The agreement is in line with the company‚Äôs strategy of diversification by developing major wind farms outside Swede, for example in Norway and Scotland, independently and in partnership with other long-term investors.

‘Argyll Estates is situated in the west of Scotland and the size of the estates is more than 30,000 hectares.’

One Response to Sweden’s Arise windpower to develop major wind farm for Argyll Estates

  1. According to todays Argyllshire Advertiser there is another wind farm being proposed for Inverneill, just South of Lochgilphead. If you have any interest in preserving Argyll from being inundated with worthless Wind Farms then object now. This is what has happened in bonny Galloway. Just look at the map showing existing Wind Farms built / approved with apparently a further 1000 individual Turbines still being proposed. http://www.tw312.org.uk/
For anyone concerned about the destruction of the open seas South of Tiree with 180 / 250 offshore turbines up to 200m high, there will also be required 2 Converter Platforms. At the request of the NoTireeArray committee I have made the following video of what they will look like. These will be very visible from the shores of Tiree:- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MZlbbZ9KuTY
