Strathclyde Police: Lochgilphead police reports for week to 23rd January 2013 – and witness appeal

Possession of Drugs
About 12.40am on Wednesday 16th January, on the A83 at Furnace, a car was stopped and searched by Police. Subsequently a 35 year old man and a 48 year old woman were charged with alleged possession of cannabis and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

No Driving Licence – Vehicle Seizure
About 8.00am on Thursday 17th January, a car was stopped by Police for a routine documents check. The driver, a 54 year old man subsequently charged with allegedly driving without a licence, and without an MOT and his car was seized. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

Vandalism – Witness Appeal
Between 6.15pm and 6.30pm on Thursday 10th January, Graffiti was sprayed on the wall at Ardrishaig Primary School. Police are following a positive line of enquiry but are also appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information to call Lochgilphead Police on 01546 702200.

Vandalism – Witness Appeal
Between 2.00pm on Saturday 19th January and 10.00am on Sunday 20th January, Graffiti was sprayed on the wall of a house in Oakfield, Tarbert. Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information to call Lochgilphead Police on 01546 702200.

Vandalism – Witness Appeal
Between 4.00pm on Friday 18th and 11.10am on Sunday 20th January, plants were uprooted and bins damaged at Tarbert Academy. Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information to call Lochgilphead Police on 01546 702200.

Theft of Money
Between 10.30m on Friday 18th and 4.30pm on Saturday 19th December, a cash sum was stolen from Lochgilphead Primary School. Enquiries are continuing and Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information to contact them on 01546 702200.

Drunk Driver, No Insurance and Unsupervised learner
About 3.00am on Tuesday 22nd January, a 26 year old man was stopped by Police while driving his car on the A819 at Inveraray, The man provided a positive breath test and subsequently a blood sample was taken for analysis. The man was charged with allegedly driving without insurance and without a qualified supervisor. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

Arrests on Warrant
About 8.45pm on Sunday 20th January, a 20 year old woman was arrested in Furnace on an apprehension warrant. About 10.15pm that night, a 32 year old woman was arrested in Lochgilphead on an apprehension warrant. Both women were kept in custody to appear at Dunoon Sheriff Court on Monday 21st January.
