The minor changes to the ferry service to Islay tomorrow, 27th January and on Monday 28th January are to accommodate repairs to a recent problem with the operation of the MV Hebridean Isles”s bow ramp.
She has been operating single ended for a few weeks after this fault came to light in a routine weekly inspection.
The experts carried out a detailed inspection just over a week ago and a plan was put in place to carry out repairs at a time which would cause the least possible disruption to the timetable.
The repairs to the Hebridean Isles will be facilitated by an additional sailing by MV Lord of the Isles from Port Ellen on Sunday 27th January at 20:30hrs. This will mean the 07:00hrs from Islay on Monday 28th January has been cancelled. All other sailings will be unaffected and will operate on schedule, weather permitting.
