Strathclyde Police, Lochgilphead: Police reports for week to 10th December 2012

Lorry with Insecure load

About 8.30am on Monday 3rd December, a cable drum fell of a lorry onto the road at the Corran roundabout in Lochgilphead, a following car collided with the drum causing minor damage to the car. Subsequently, the lorry driver (a 41 year old man) was traced and charged with allegedly having an insecure load on the lorry. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

Theft of Heating Oil

Between 12.00pm on Wednesday 21st November and 4.00pm on Monday 3rd December a quantity of heating oil was stolen from a house in Fernoch, Lochgilphead, enquiries are continuing and Police are appealing for any witness or anyone with any information to contact them on 01546 702200.

Vandalism to Car

Between 6.00pm on Wednesday 28th November and 3.00pm on Tuesday 4th December, at the Car Park at the Mid Argyll Community Hospital, a vehicle which had been parked there was damaged by being scratched.   Police are appealing for any witness or anyone with any information to contact them on 01546 702200.

Possession of Drugs

At 12.25am on Wednesday 5th December, on the A83 at Lochgilphead, a car was stopped, the car and 2 men were searched and as a result, a 24 year old man was charged for allegedly having possession of Cannabis. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

Theft by Shoplifting 


At 8.30am on Wednesday 5th December, a packet of cigarettes and some other items were stolen from a shop in Ardrishaig. Subsequently, a 24 year old woman was charged with alleged Theft and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

Vandalim to Car

Between 5.15pm and 5.45pm on Monday 3rd December, a car which was parked in the car park at the Co-op in Lochgilphead was damaged by being scratched. Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information to contact them on 01546 702200.

Assault

About 10.30am on Wednesday 5th December, an assault took place in a house in Lochgilphead whereby a woman suffered minor injuries. Subsequently a 31 year old man was arrested and charged with an alleged assault. A report was submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

Breach of the Peace

About 12.20am on Sunday 9th December, a disturbance occurred in Argyll Street, Lochgilphead, Police attended and subsequently, a 29 year old man was issued with a £40 Fixed Penalty Ticket for an alleged Breach of the Peace.

Theft of Charity Bottle

Some time in November, a SSPCA charity Bottle was stolen from the bedroom of a flat in Lochnell Street, Lochgilphead. It is estimated that the Bottle contained £50. Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information to contact them on 01546 702200.

Careless Driving

About 12.30pm on Friday 7th December, on the A83 near to Achnaba, Lochgilphead, the driver of a black Vauxhall Corsa, lost control and collided with Grey Peugeot 308. Police attended and subsequently an 18 year old man was charged with Alleged Careless Driving. No persons were injured as a result of the crash. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
