Not listed in this link, but featuring in the Oban Times’ list of 27th December, is an application (12/02675/PP) for consent for exploration drilling on up to 30 sites over 3 years, in Lagalochan forest, north of the Kilmelford – Dalavich road at the head of Glen Domhain. This is to further investigate an area previously drilled by BP Minerals in 1984 – at that time the word was that there might be a viable amount of gold there, but this time the main interest would appear to be copper.
If the drilling does establish that there’s a viable copper ore body, further development could be very interesting, as the mining of copper ore would perhaps be on a rather different scale to the ongoing gold mining project near Tyndrum.

Different scale; different method too probably, likely a GBFO hole in the ground like Glensanda, although it’s dependent on how the lode strata lies.
