A83 on landslide alert again

[Update 18.00  31st December: - warning removed.] Transport Scotland put the A83 back on landslide alert at around 21.00  tonight, 30th December 2012..

Road users are advised, as usual, to ‘exercise extreme caution’ with this increased risk of landslides on the affected section of the road at Rest and Be Thankful.

31st December 09.45 update – warning remains in place.

  1. And the very useful traffic cameras on the Rest at the Lochgoilhead road end are still out of action – what is it about these cameras that they so often fail just when they’re most needed?

  2. I’ve wondered about too Robert?? Also curious to know
    what ‘exercising extreme caution’ means – surely any sensible driver in an area like that would do that anyway! One dilemma that I share with friends is whether to drive as fast as possible before the a landslip actually reaches us or travel slowly to wittiness it in full conscious view!! Either way
    its not much of a choice really.
