It’s all go at the Oban Winter Festival, with the town looking spectacular even in the rain last night, as the crowds started to gathered to get into position for the big parade – and the big switch on for a switched-on event.

The town’s Christmas lights were duly given the power to go and several events have already energised residents and visitors alike.

The Parade had Santa leading the way through the town – and his reindeer team [you can see Daddy's hoof at the left of the shot] brought theĀ family this year.

The Parade saw splendid costumes in line with the Victorian theme for the Festival, with the festival mascot, Coolio, getting in on the act as often as possible.

And Ballet West dazzled at the Corran Halls.

Picture postcard stuff in a picture postcard town, a perfect start to a winter this festival is brightening and encouraging to be as kind to us as possible.
