Share knowledge at Kilfinan Community Forest’s Woodland Crofting event

This Thursday, 25th October, at the Royal An Lochan Hotel in Tighnabruaich on the Kyles of Bute, Kilfinan Community Forest is hosting a special Knowledge Share event.

This will be attractive to those interested in woodland living as well as to thoseĀ  with a specific interest in woodland crofting.

There will also be an opportunity – through a site visit – to see the magical and inspirational Kilfinan Community Forest initiative.

This free event will introduce participants to the forest croft model and its opportunities. Key issues will be highlighted, along with advice about guidance and support that’s available.

Eamon King, Development Officer at Kilfinan Community Forest Company, will chair the event and will talk about the company’s plans for forest crofts.

Other speakers will be Jamie McIntyre, Ex-FCS Crofting Officer; Ronnie McRae from The Highlands Small Communities Housing Trust; and Patrick Krause from the Scottish Crofting Federation.

There are only 35 spaces available for the event so, while it is free, booking is essential. Contact Eamon King to book a place:

  • by email:
  • by phone: 01700 811159.

Lunch and refreshments are also on the menu so let Eamon King know about any dietary requirements.
