Last carrier block confirmed to leave Govan on Monday

BAE Systems at Govan on the Clyde have confirmed that the last block of the Queen Elizabeth aircraft carrier will leave the dock at 10.30am on Monday 29th October.

She is planned to take the route through the Pentland Firth, as was the case with the last section, and is due in Rosyth on Saturday 3rd November.

She had been due to leave Govan on that date but the preparations to secure her on the barge, AMT Trader, for her towed transit to the east coast have gone so smoothly that the team have made up a considerable amount of time. This is very fine engineering at all levels.
