Campbell Cameron: Mull Rally after Special Stage 12

Mull rally 15.30 – Tobermory.

After 12 tough stages, Calum Duffy from Dervaig leads from Tony Bardy by 1minute and 54 seconds.

Just one second behind comes John MacCrone also from Mull and making a name for himself on World Rally events.

Duffy tips the youngster to take his Mull crown when he slows down but he is not about to give up that crown lightly.

In the absence of last years winner Paul MacKinnon, Duffy is having it easy at the front and is driving at 85 to 90 per cent he says.

Jon Mounsey has popped into 4th place as Daniel Harper drops back. Harper is the last non Muileach to win the event in 2oo2 but has had troubles with the BMW Mini.

Lewis Gallagher is in 5th place having a great event and the Tobermory man gives the top five a Mull supremecy.

Eddie O’Donnell in the black Escort is having a grey day with time lost to a puncture. …..he has slipped to 7th one place ahead of Harper, who is reported to have driveshaft issues.
