A yacht on passage through Ardrishaig on the Crinan Canal this morning discovered a body in the water. Those on board got the body to the bank of the canal, with help from two police officers. The Fire Service have removed the body.
It is of a male whose age has not yet been given.
Strathclyde Police have now closed this section of the Canal while inquiries proceed.
Tthe sailing community should note that through traffic on the canal is therefore not possible for the time being.

There is a date stamp at the head of each article. I agree on the time stamp. We used to have one but it went during a clean up job to keep the site running as fast as possible – which matters. But I miss it. I’ll raise the issue and we’ll revisit it.
