Here are the reports from Strathclyde Police’s Lochgilphead office for the week ending 17th September 2012.
House Searches
At about 7.00am on Friday 14th September 2012, a pre planned, intelligence led operation was carried out in the Lochgilphead and Ardrishaig area with three separate dwelling houses being searched under the Misuse Of Drugs Act 1971.
Led by the Area Commander, Chief Inspector David Pettigrew, three separate teams including uniformed officers, CID and a specialist drugs dog, simultaneously raided the addresses resulting in 3 people (a 27 year old man, a 28 year old man and a 36 year old man) being reported to the Procurator Fiscal for alleged drug related offences.
Chief Inspector Pettigrew says: ‘This is the first of many such operations in an effort to address the drug problems highlighted to me by the public.
‘The message to all those who use or deal in drugs in Mid Argyll, Kintyre and the Islands is that you should expect to receive the attention of the police.
‘I am thankful for the information given by the public so far and would appeal for more information. I can give my assurance that any information will be treated in confidence.’
Possession of Drugs
About 00.30am on Saturday 15th September in West Bank Road, Ardrishaig, a 23 year old man and a 21 year old man were allegedly found in possession of a small quantity of Cannabis. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
Breach of the Peace and Assault
About 9.00pm on Saturday 15th September, a 22 year old man was arrested for allegedly committing a Breach of the Peace and Assaulting another man in Harbour Street, Tarbert. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
Breach of the Peace and Resist Arrest
About 12.05am on Sunday 16th September, a 22 year old man was arrested for allegedly committing a Breach of the Peace and Resisting Arrest in Lochnell Street, Lochgilphead. A report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
Breach of the Peace
About 12.15pm on Sunday 16th September, a disturbance was reported in a Flat on West Bank Road, Ardrishaig. Police attended and subsequently a 53 year old woman was arrested and charged with alleged Abusive Behaviour. A report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
Disturbance
About 2.30pm on Sunday 16th September, a disturbance was reported as occurring between a group of people in the street at MacDonald Terrace, Lochgilphead. Police are investigating the incident and are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information to call Lochgilphead Police on 01546 702200.
Yacht Tampered with
Between 11th and 17th September, a yacht which was moored at Tayvallich Bay was entered and equipment on it was interfered with. The interference could have resulted in serious damage to the vessel. The yacht is white in colour with a blue deck.
