This is the annual local wine tasting held by the award winning Linda Ward of Vintage Roots. The 2012 version has a thoroughgoing Spanish theme.
Linda Ward is bringing with her a Spanish vineyard owner, Bernard Robin, from Vina Ijalbadas in the Rioja area.
The date of the party – Friday 28th September, at 7.30pm - is Bernard’s 60th birthday, so partying will be well to the fore.
Over the years Bernard Robin has worked in the wine industry in Champagne, Bordeaux, Burgundy and Rioja, where he has now lived for over 20 years. He is said to have ‘a passion for the good things in life’ and ‘never fails to entertain’.
Along with the always lively and highly informative Linda Ward, tapas to complement the wine and some good rioja as the prize for the best Spanish costume, this looks like a classic Furnace evening.
Places are open to everyone from anywhere but are limited, so early booking is advisable. Tickets – £8.50 – are available at both the Furnace and Minard village shops.
