Police operation on Arran may disrupt Lochranza Claonaig ferry

CalMac are saying that they have been advised that due to a Police operation, the main A841 road to the South of the island will be closed between Brodick and Lamlash from 11.00 hours this morning.

The ferry operator is not sure how long this closure will be in place and so is advising those planning to use the short ferry service from Lochranza in the north of Arran to Claonaig in Kintyre to allow for longer journey times.

Travelling to and from Lochranza towards Brodick and Lamlash on the east coast of Arran, it may be necessary to allow considerably longer journey times to travel via Blackwaterfoot along the west coast of the island.

  1. Surely this would affect users of the Ardrossan – Brodick ferry heading for the south of arran at least as much as those using the Lochranza ferry?
